It's been almost a year since I've been on here. Wow...what have I been doing?? Let's see...I've beenig storms. looking for gainful employment (still a jungle out there), working on my doctoral degree (inching ever closer), and doing charity work for Relay For Life and For Haiti With Love. Yep...I've been a tad busy. Seems odd though...how did I do all this when I was working?
We are in the middle of summer 2011, July 21 to be exact and my friends in the Midwest are broiling. Temps are over 100 in a lot of spots. They just aren't used to heat. We have heat 9 months out of the year so we pretty much know how to handle it or at least work with it. Heat will kill you just as quickly as cold will kill you. Until now though, we haven't had any big storms. Yet.
We are coming up on a couple of anniversaries and a birthday. I'll take them in order. My birthday is August 3 (yay me!) and Mark's birthday would have been August 8. The anniversary of the return of Relay For Life to Palm Harbor and the untimely death of Mark is August 13. August is kind of a tough month around here anymore.
Anyhow, we are looking ahead to our Christmas time vacation over in Ormond Beach at the Royal Floridian Resort. We will be over there for a week to just kind of veg out. More on that later!
