Here it Comes!

Jeez...we just got finished with Thanksgiving and now here comes Christmas rushing at us from all directions! Yes, I said 'Christmas'...I'm not a very politically correct type of guy, and I celebrate Christmas. Nothing against Hanukkah or any of the other religious holidays that fall in December, but Christmas is the one on my calendar. More and more effort seems to go into making this the 'Winter Holidays' or the 'Holiday Season' and you'll even hear me wishing you the best of the holiday season on Purple Power Radio. Christmas is the celebrated day of Christ's birth, and whether He was actually born on this day or not is still debated. To me, Christmas is a day to celebrate, have fun, give gifts, and read the story in the Bible. It's a season of love and forgiveness, of kindness and giving. It's also a season of great stress, especially for those that have lost loved ones and those in financial distress. Being out of work for almost a year, I can fully appreciate those that are struggling. But now, let's look up. Let's check the bright side of the season. Whether you are Christian or not, the season tends to bring out the best in us. Let's help out others. If you can, and if the Lord has kept you going over this past year, help those that are in need. We have been blessed with one stable employment and steady paychecks that have kept us going. We have given to charities that help others and will do more.

It's Christmas time...time to give gifts and celebrate. Won't you give to a church or charity and help another in need?

To all of you and yours, a very merry and blessed Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!
